About
"The Mushroom Speaks" is a documentary about the mostly invisible world of fungal networks beneath our feet, which connect living beings and transform the dead into the basis of new life. It was directed and shot by Marion Neumann, who sets out to explore what we can learn from fungi. For this she meets people from research, activism and mushroom culture, including the anthropologist Anna Lowenhaupt Tsing and the consciousness researcher Franz Xaver Vollenweider. Between scientific curiosity and poetic observation, the 90-minute film explores the regenerative possibilities of fungi and forms of living together in which exchange, dependency and cooperation are decisive; the screening is followed by a discussion with the director.
