The Lange Nacht der Verwahrung is a 28-hour programme by the Zurich artist collective #BigDreams at Rote Fabrik, discussing preventive detention from various perspectives. At its centre are questions of justice, security, and the sense and nonsense of detention without an end date. The project 'Verdingt. Verwahrt.' is created with and through Hanspeter Zablonier, a Yenish man and former child placed in forced labour who has been held in detention for 28 years. The broadcast also reaches detainees and other inmates who cannot attend in person but can stream or listen to parts of the programme.
