About
"16GB: Tischtennisplattenpolitik (14+)" is a play about the unease of soft hands, performed at Theater an der Parkaue. It was written by Zehra Sönmez, whose debut won the 2024 Berliner Stückepreis for young audiences, and is staged by director Till Doğan Ertener with great directness, powerful beats and live camera. It tells of the siblings Andaç and Ceren, who celebrate, laugh and argue around their neighbourhood's table tennis table and now shoot a film there about their life, family and world on a 16 GB memory card – a homage to all the calloused hands around them. From a young postmigrant perspective, the play calls for solidarity and asks: whose stories belong to the "German we"?
