About
A traveling exhibition presents 600 accordions collected by Dieter Plinke, a Berliner whose collection is a life's work tied to memories from many countries, generations and Berlin neighborhoods. The project „600 Akkordeons. Eure Geschichten. Unser Berlin.“ is run by the Landesmusikrat Berlin, which wants to make this unique accordion collection visible and accessible to everyone in the state's „Year of the Accordion“. In cooperation with the Handelsverband Berlin-Brandenburg e.V., six shopping centers provide spaces for the citywide show; the sixth stop is the shopping center „das Schloss“, set up in a ground-floor shop unit around the rotunda near the Grunewaldstraße entrance, with a focus on curiosities and unusual pieces. A varied accompanying program of workshops, hands-on formats, guided tours and concerts for children, young people, families and adults runs alongside the exhibition.
