Berlin Blues Project

Berlin Blues Project is a blues concert in which a band plays on the idea that hardly any other form of music grants so much freedom to express feelings such as joy, despair, hope, sorrow or happiness. Behind the project stands a quartet that has devoted its whole life to music: bandleader and pianist Rudy Redl, who originally comes from funk and soul, guitarist Mike Russel from the same tradition, drummer Tilman Person, and singer Katy Kay, who originally comes from theatre. Within the twelve bars of the blues, so it is said, all of life happens, and the band keeps the audience on the hook with unrelenting power. Visually, the musicians work with projections that make the stage action appear transparent and multi-layered, lending the live performance an added dimension of timelessness.
