"Berlin-Mitte: Von Babylon bis Tacheles" is a public walking tour that explores current architecture and urban development in Berlin-Mitte from exciting perspectives. The walk is led by Berlin architects who illuminate the background of current building projects and their references, for example to architectural history. The route leads through the so-called Spandauer Vorstadt, with hidden courtyards, parks and small squares in the former Jewish Scheunenviertel. Along the way it covers the art and gallery scene in old factories, the gentrification of the quarter, and the famous Volksbühne together with housing designed by Hans Poelzig.
