Barbaros Altuğ: presentation of his new novel.

A book presentation and conversation with Barbaros Altuğ about his new novel, in which a writer living in Berlin investigates the mysterious disappearance of a young officer in Turkey. The novel revolves around social pressure, foreignness, memory and suppressed desire, as well as the suppressed sexual identity and a traumatic experience of violence of its protagonist. Since early September, the social media accounts of the author, who lives in exile in Berlin, have been blocked by the Turkish authorities, amid violence and measures against the LGBTQ* community in Turkey. The conversation is moderated by Alexandra Weltz-Rombach, a filmmaker, curator and producer based in Berlin.
