CLASS: Flying dance for kids and teens (5–14 J.)

'Flying dance for kids & teens' is a dance class for children and teenagers aged 5 to 14 in which participants dance while wearing a climbing harness connected to a fixed point on the ceiling. The class is taught by Iris Gonzalez and Karla L. Mendoza, who work together as Flying Dance Education and began their pedagogical collaboration in 2023 with certification as Vertical Dance Teachers (Moretti Method). The class combines aerial dance with elements of contemporary and modern dance, acrobatics and contact improvisation, exploring what happens when gravity is altered. Various techniques such as fixed point, bungee and counterweight are taught, alongside warm-up, improvisation and choreography – all equipment is provided and the teaching language is German.
