CLASS: Flying Dance Education - Kids & Teens

Flying Dance for Kids & Teens is a dance class for children and young people aged 5 to 14 in Studio 2 at Katapult. It is run by Karla L. Mendoza and Iris Gonzalez, the team behind Flying Dance Education, who teach as certified Vertical Dance Teachers (Moretti Method). The class is about aerial & vertical dance: the dancers wear a climbing harness connected to a fixed point on the ceiling while remaining in contact with the floor, creating an exciting dialogue between flying and dancing. It offers warm-up and group dynamics exercises, an introduction to the equipment, various flying dance techniques such as fix point and bungee, and a mix of technique, improvisation, creation and choreography – combined with elements of contemporary and modern dance, acrobatics and contact improvisation in a creative, safe and playful atmosphere, taught in German with all equipment provided.
