Das Archiv der Träume: theatre based on a memoir.

'Das Archiv der Träume' is a theatre production at the Berliner Ensemble. Leo Lorena Wyss dramatised Carmen Maria Machado's memoir about a lesbian relationship marked by violence and manipulation, directed by Jules Head. On stage, Carmen and Val undertake a reenactment course through Carmen's past, with Val repeatedly stepping into the role of the perpetrator. The piece tells how the protagonist reclaims authority over her own life story and breaks with the cliché of the idyllic lesbian love story.
