About

A lecture at Schönhausen Palace is devoted to the portrait of the Freifrau von Wallmoden, a painting by Antoine Pesne. The picture is part of a series of eight portraits of court ladies of Queen Elisabeth Christine in the palace's garden hall. Dr. Ulrike Schmiegelt-Rietig, provenance researcher at the SPSG, tells of expropriation, theft and restoration, and how the painting returned to its present location in the 20th century. She also explains her own work as a provenance researcher.
