About

A reading and discussion about loneliness and the role of libraries as places of encounter. Journalist and author Daniel Haas reads from his autobiographical novel „Einsamsein. Eine Befreiungsgeschichte“, in which he writes about self-doubt, lack of belonging and shame, and about how he found his way out through connection and friendship. Afterwards, Federal Minister of Education and Family Affairs Karin Prien and Frauke Untiedt of the Deutscher Bibliotheksverband e. V. join Haas to discuss the causes and effects of loneliness, with moderation by Tina Lurz. The event is part of the action month „Gemeinsam in der Bibliothek“ by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and the Deutscher Bibliotheksverband, and is free of charge.
