Sangre de mi Sangre: weaving red nets against femicide.
Gemeinsames Weben mit den Fingern – „Sangre de mi Sangre“ mit dem Netzwerk gegen Feminizide
About
A joint weaving session where red nets are crocheted with the fingers to draw attention to femicides. The action „Sangre de mi Sangre“, meaning „blood of my blood“, was initiated in 2019 by the feminist Colectiva Hilos in Guadalajara, Mexico; the red nets represent the blood shed through patriarchal violence while making collective resistance visible. Since 2024 the Netzwerk gegen Feminizide has taken part in the initiative and invites people to weave together in the run-up to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November. Admission is free, no registration is needed, and access is wheelchair accessible.
