Slow Sessions: Gus van Sant's Gerry with Matt Damon.

This screening shows the film „Gerry“, a piece of slow cinema in which two friends, both named Gerry, get lost while wandering through the wilderness. The irregular film series Slow Sessions is dedicated to cinema that takes its time to grasp the world in its depth instead of condensing it into quick images. The third edition features the film from 2002 by Gus van Sant, with Casey Affleck and Matt Damon in the desert. The film, the second part of the “Trilogie des Sterbens”, is probably the director's most experimental work and certainly a visually atmospheric pearl of slow storytelling.
