About
„Spill Your Guts: Waiting Room Visions“ is an English-language ventriloquist show in which Hendrik Quast argues with a puppet embodying his chronic inflammatory bowel disease. For the project, the performance and action artist learned ventriloquism to explore his own relationship with his gut. Using theater, comedy and musical elements, it deals with shame, the healthcare system, invisible disability and the question of who holds interpretive authority over the sick body. The darkly humorous show combines crip comedy, personification and theater from a disability arts perspective.
