Horizontal – Das Krankenbett und die Welt im Liegen is a special exhibition at the Medizinhistorisches Museum der Charité in Berlin. It is curated by Monika Ankele, with curatorial assistance from Nora Heidorn and exhibition design by Katrin Mayer. Historical objects and archival materials, artistic works, activist positions and the voices of those affected span the period from the 19th century to the present, asking how perception and one's relation to the world change when the bed becomes the centre of life. The exhibition also includes „Stille Stunden – Ausstellungsbesuch in einer ruhigen und reizarmen Atmosphäre“.
