About

A public workshop at the Botanical Garden is devoted to Ikebana, the learnable Japanese art of flower arranging. The instructors Renate Murawski and Detlev Dahlmann guide participants through theory and history, a walk with a focus on Japan, and hands-on work following the design rules of the Sogetsu school. The way of Ikebana is a Zen art, far more than decoration, deeply connected with nature and philosophy. No prior knowledge is required; the meeting point is the visitor centre at the Königin-Luise-Platz entrance.
