Workshop: tasty dishes from food waste.

A workshop showing how to turn supposed food waste into tasty dishes and long-lasting foods. It is organised by the Koordinierungsstelle Umweltbildung in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, ANAAB, the Torhaus Kochkollektiv, BUND Berlin e. V., the district office of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and NHU Kreuzberg. It covers when food really belongs in the bin and what can safely be reused, using the best-before date versus the use-by date and testing with the five senses. In the practical part, small ferments are prepared directly in preserving jars, and participants take home recipes and first instructions; clean screw-top or preserving jars should be brought along.
