Artist Jenny Holzer is named the 37th laureate of the Praemium Imperiale in the category Painting, with the award ceremony held at the Sprüth Magers gallery in Berlin. Since the late 1970s, Holzer has worked with text, in series such as Truisms and Inflammatory Essays, presented on LED signs, posters, projections and stone works in public spaces.
