About
An evening combining a public art commission and a performance at KW Institute for Contemporary Art. It begins in the courtyard with Florence Jung's work Jung111, for which she engraved three short sentences into the metal surfaces of the institution's elevator; each sentence describes an intimate act by anonymous visitors identified only by class characteristics. Guests are then invited to take the elevator to the attic, where dancer, choreographer and artist Ana Pi presents her solo performance NoirBLUE – a journey across the Atlantic between two colors, the blackness of skin and ultramarine blue pigment, starting from the observation that some old languages had no word for 'blue'. The event is held in cooperation with the Bureau des arts visuels of the Institut français Deutschland as part of the program celebrating its 30th anniversary.
