Mark of a Woman: Minamimura's performance on tattoos.

"Mark of a Woman Audiodeskription" is a performance by Chisato Minamimura. The piece deals with tattoo cultures and the marks imposed on women's bodies – whether by their own choice or by society. Minamimura fuses choreographed and poetic sign language, digital animation and haptic technology. At its centre is the question of whether we can escape the imposed marks and what happens when we reclaim the power to mark ourselves.
