About

A concert at Saint Hedwig's Cathedral in which a MIDI-controlled pipe organ is played by computer – the Berlin concert premiere of the work ‘Club Imperiale’. Behind it is the artist Maxime Denuc, who uses the organ to create dense clouds of notes impossible to play by conventional means, imagining a point of creative symbiosis between the Catholic church and the ecstatic dancefloors of the early '90s, named after a now-shuttered nightspot on Italy's Tuscan coast. Lasting approximately one hour and twenty minutes with no intermission, the work weaves trance and techno together with sound, architecture and setting, from Rome's reverberant cathedrals to the beaches of the Balearic Islands. The concert is sold out and there is no waitlist.
