Menandros & Thaïs: poetic adventure film by Šilar and Cikán.

Menandros & Thaïs is a feature film by Antonín Šilar and Ondřej Cikán. The bride Thaïs is kidnapped by pirates during her wedding to Menandros. Searching for her, the groom turns into a bloodthirsty monster, his horse grows wings, a witch takes hold of him, and King Xerxes has him emasculated – yet everything ends happily. The film is based on Cikán's novel Thaïs, which draws on late-antique romances; the result is a bizarre, fast-paced and poetic adventure film.
