Penthesilea: Ein Requiem / პენთესილეა. რეკვიემი
Deutsches Theater, Schumannstraße 13a, 10117 Berlin, Mitte
About
A theatre play by Nino Haratischwili, who also directs it: a new reading of the ancient myth of the Amazon queen Penthesilea and the hero Achilles. Before the walls of Troy, proud warrior women meet the Greek army, and although both are weary of the war, an unrelenting game of love and death unfolds. The bilingual production brings actresses from Georgia together with the theatre's ensemble to tell of the love-murder in times of war. It is performed in Georgian and German with Georgian and German surtitles.
