Maarten van Heemskerck: guided talk with Henrik Engel.

A guided exhibition talk about the painter Maarten van Heemskerck at the Gemäldegalerie. Henrik Engel invites visitors to discover the highly peculiar Momus painting of 1559, which tells a curious ancient tale about art and rivalry between artists. It shows how the painter, long after returning from Rome in 1537 to his hometown Haarlem, still drew on his impressions of Italy. The tour is part of a weekly series presenting individual artists from the collection.
