"Natalia Stachon | The Noise of the Sun" is an exhibition of recent work by Natalia Stachon at Loock Galerie in Berlin. For this series Stachon worked with the traditional mezzotint technique, where a copper plate roughened all over prints a deep black surface and polished areas bring drawings out of the black. Unusually, the metal plates, refined with steel, stand at the centre as independent art objects, and their motifs only become perceptible under directed light and shifting viewpoints. The works address the traces human action leaves in landscapes, from subtle shifts to profound changes, with a sense of beauty and a sense of loss side by side.
