"Like a Bird on a Wire" is the first institutional solo exhibition of the Berlin painter Lunita-July Dorn at the Achim Freyer Kunsthaus, curated by Sabine Bayer. In large-format paintings and drawings, Dorn casts herself as the imaginary protagonist, using a searching painterly self-questioning to test individual and social roles. She weaves personal memories together with fantastic motifs into autofictional narratives about being at ease with oneself and the longing for freedom, love and happiness. In dialogue with the museum's collection of modern, Art Brut and outsider art, the show – presented on the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2026 – opens a poetic resonance space.
