Öffentliche Führung: Robert Koch und die Charité
FAV' Coffee, Robert-Koch-Platz 4, 10115 Berlin, Mitte
About
A free public walk dedicated to the bacteriologist and Nobel laureate Robert Koch. The route leads from his monument on Robert-Koch-Platz, past the site of the former Imperial Health Office, to one of the S-Bahn arches at Charitéplatz, where Friedrich Loeffler and Paul Frosch, as students of Robert Koch, ushered in the age of virology at the end of the 19th century. The walk ends at the Robert Koch Forum on Dorotheenstraße, where Robert Koch announced his discovery of the tuberculosis pathogen on 24 March 1882. After years of vacancy and renovation work, the Hertie School will move into the impressive building in early 2027.
