An online workshop on Gote Shibari, a foundational tie of Japanese rope bondage, showing how it can be personalised. Behind the workshop is Naoko, a Shibari artist and educator based in London and the third deshi of Naka Akira, who sees the tie as a living expression of connection rather than a fixed form. Through live demonstrations she ties a different person each session – this one focusing on hyperflexibility – explaining her decisions on technique, aesthetics and feeling as she goes. Participants should know the basics of Naka style gote; the language is English.
