About

The chamber orchestra Berliner Cappella performs at St. Matthew's Church under the direction of Igor Budinstein, playing works by Ernest Bloch and Arnold Schönberg. The programme features Bloch's Concerto Grosso No. II for string orchestra and Schönberg's »Verklärte Nacht« op. 4 in the composer's own 1917 arrangement for string orchestra. Schönberg's piece is a setting of the poem by Richard Dehmel, recited by Cordelia Schwarzkopf. Admission is free.
