About
„Perlenketten, Schilfboote, Körbe“ (Pearl necklaces, reed boats, baskets) is a film session showing short glimpses into the everyday lives of children in Venezuela, Papua New Guinea and Peru, taking place in Hall 3 on the ground floor of the building. Behind it stands the Humboldt Forum with its series „In eigener Regie“; the children learned filmmaking in workshops in their home villages and show, for example, how to string a pearl necklace, carve a bow and arrow, or fish from a traditional Peruvian reed boat. The films are presented with German voices and guided by a moderator, with a weaving of traditional sitting mats from Papua New Guinea also shown. The event lasts about 45 minutes and is recommended for children aged 5 and up.
