Philippine Cuisine in English: cook adobo and turon.

An English-language cooking class introducing Philippine cuisine as a 'fusion' shaped by Malay, Arab, Chinese, Spanish and American influences. It teaches the basic flavours, ingredients and techniques, with a menu ranging from kinilaw to Chicken Adobo and Turon. Behind the class are Minette De Asis and Kay Alave: Minette grew up in a northern Philippine coastal town and has lived in Berlin for eight years, while Kay came from Manila to Berlin in 2012; both are working on theses on the political ecology of food. The class takes place at Goldhahn und Sampson Charlottenburg.
