About
“Resonanzraum Giannozzo Berlin” is a tribute to the artist Rolf Langebartels, who passed away in January 2024, and to Berlin’s first sound gallery, which he founded in 1978. On display are Langebartels’ sound installation “Fallen”, a section dedicated to the history of the Giannozzo Gallery with previously unpublished photos, documents and objects, as well as the new sound installation “1/f Pendulums” by Seiji Morimoto, Langebartels’ longtime assistant. Historically, the project spans the period from the beginnings of site-specific and context-specific art involving music and sound art in Berlin in the late 1970s to the present day. The program also features a new version of Langebartels’ legendary “Table Concert with Personal Computer”, performed by six artists associated with Giannozzo and Langebartels on 22 November 2026, along with a panel discussion with Gabriele Knapstein and Seiji Morimoto.
