Robert Rauschenberg – Crosstown
Galerie Bastian Berlin, Taylorstraße 1, 14195 Berlin, Dahlem
About
Robert Rauschenberg – Crosstown presents paintings and sculptures by the American artist Robert Rauschenberg at Galerie Bastian Berlin. The gallery shows works in which Rauschenberg weaves autobiographical moments, flotsam from the metropolis and photographic motifs into densely layered pieces. At the centre stands the large-scale work »Crosstown« from 1997, an urban panorama of forms and colours in a hierarchy-free narrative, built with a transfer process that integrates photographic motifs onto polylaminate and combines them with painterly elements.
