About
The bookshop hosts a reading from Franz Hessel's book „Spazieren in Berlin“, a textbook on the art of strolling through Berlin first published in 1929. The actor Hans-Jürgen Schatz reads from it, and the evening is moderated by the publisher André Förster. Hessel (1880–1941) was a writer, editor and translator who lived in Berlin in the 1920s and emigrated to Paris in 1938. Walter Benjamin called the book a memorising while strolling, for which remembering was not the source but the muse.
