Silent-film concert: The Lost World, with live music.

A silent-film concert presents the classic feature film »The Lost World«, projected analog on Super 8 film with live accompaniment by the Sound 8 Orchestra, a project of musician and composer Matthias Wyder. Harry O. Hoyt's film tells how the scientist Challenger causes an uproar in London when he announces that living prehistoric creatures still exist in the Amazon region. To counter the disbelief he meets, he calls for an expedition joined, alongside himself, his colleague Summerlee, the hunter Roxton and the journalist Malone, by the daughter of a missing explorer. The classic has inspired countless dinosaur and monster films to this day, and its creature effects come from stop-motion pioneer Willis O'Brien, which were then considered groundbreaking.
