About
"The Promise of Identity" is an online workshop on identity in the context of kink, intimacy, relationships and sexualities. It is led by Georg Barkas, an intimacy educator, researcher and rope bondage performer based in Vancouver. By deconstructing the terms involved, the workshop takes a path to a different understanding of identity, seeing ourselves as malleable and allowing us to create an identity we feel comfortable with. Topics covered include different identities, entrance rituals, categorization and the crisis of identity, shame, ways out of that crisis, and creating one's own identity.
