About
"THRESHOLDS" is an exhibition of video installation, painting and performance by Vitalii Shupliak, a Ukraine-born artist living and working in Berlin. It asks what happens at a threshold – between inside and outside, visible and invisible, protection and threat, past and present. Mirrored birds, sacred eyes, floating bodies and fire appear as motifs in which boundaries become permeable spaces where meanings shift. In the Gotische Haus, this contemporary perspective meets an architecture shaped by transitions itself, such as between light and darkness or this world and the hereafter.
