About
Projections Onto the East is a group exhibition of historical and contemporary artworks, including new productions made for the project, at Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin. It is a project by the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) in cooperation with the Schinkel Pavillon, conceived by Fabian Bechtle and Leon Kahane. Artists on view include Helmar Lerski, Maria Lisogorskaya, Xavier Robles de Medina, Maya Schweizer, Andrzej Steinbach and Gabriele Stötzer. The exhibition addresses the ideological attributions attached to the terms “East” and “West”, tracing lines of conflict from GDR memory politics and antisemitism to postsocialist transformations and current geopolitical tensions.
