About
WAS HABEN WIR GELACHT is a documentary about comedy, emancipation and the question of who may laugh at whom. Directors Eva Müller and Isabel Schneider have Maren Kroymann, Hella von Sinnen, Bettina Böttinger, Gaby Köster and Esther Schweins look back on their beginnings and their fight for visibility in German entertainment television of the 1990s and 2000s. Using archive footage and personal memories, the film tells a piece of media history in which women were often mere accessories or the targets of humour themselves. It shows how humour reflects social role models.
