About
"Yoggaton: Transformative Pleasure" is an Embodied Practice staged as a hybrid performance workshop at Radialsystem. Maque Pereyra, a Bolivian artist based in Berlin, has been developing Yoggaton since 2016: an intersectional movement practice combining yoga asanas, pelvic dances and reggaeton music, which understands the body as a place of memory, creativity and embodied knowledge. From a decolonial perspective, she questions binary notions of spirituality and sensuality, body and mind, and pleasure and knowledge. For Yoggaton's tenth anniversary, the practice leads participants from reflection on embodiment to celebration, blurring the lines between shared learning, performance and the dance floor; the workshop is open to all, with no prior experience needed.
