About
Avenue Q is a Tony Award-winning musical comedy in which puppets and human actors perform together, returning to the West End after twenty years. It has music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and a book by Jeff Whitty. The story follows Princeton, a recent college graduate who moves into a rundown New York apartment building and joins his eccentric neighbours, a band of loveable misfits fumbling through adulthood, jobs, love and relationships. Described as Sesame Street for adults, it blends catchy songs, adult humour and a colourful puppet cast.
