£15 (£10 for children)
About
A two-hour guided walking tour through the City of London that uncovers the often-overlooked histories of Black Tudors, exploring the lives, contributions and legacies of Black individuals in London's social and economic life during the Tudor period. Beginning at Guildhall, the walk looks at the city's guilds and liveries, the trade associations that controlled who could work and live in London, and how perceptions of race evolved over the centuries. Using researched accounts, primary sources and heraldry, the tour presents Black lives in Tudor England and concludes at St Botolph Aldgate Parish, reflecting on Britain's multicultural past. It is offered to celebrate Local London Guiding Day.
