About

A two-day interdisciplinary conference on marginalised maritime histories from around 1500 to the present. It is co-convened by Royal Museums Greenwich and the Centre for Port Cities and Maritime Cultures at the University of Portsmouth. The conference highlights new research on communities and individuals historically underrepresented in maritime narratives, from workers and families to navigators and knowledge-keepers. The fee covers lunches, refreshments and an evening book launch for Black and Asian Seafarers: A Visual History.
