BSL Tours of Hunterian Museum 2026
About
A British Sign Language tour of the Hunterian Museum, discovering the art and science of surgery from ancient times to today. It is led by Alan Murray MBE, a Deaf BSL user, trainer and consultant passionate about making the arts accessible. The museum holds over 2,000 anatomical preparations made by 18th-century surgeon anatomist John Hunter, alongside instruments, models, paintings and archive material tracing surgery's history up to robot-assisted operations, and includes England's largest public display of human anatomy. Meet at the Hunter statue by the staircase in the atrium; a tour ticket also grants museum access.
