About

Chamber Spotlight: Beethoven – The Bonn Years is a chamber concert at the Royal College of Music's Performance Hall. RCM musicians perform Barbod Yekdaneh's Insomnia in its world premiere, Beethoven's String Quartet in F major op 18 no 1 and his Piano Sonata in E flat major op 27 no 1. The programme meets the young Beethoven, teeming with new ideas in two of his earliest works, alongside music inspired by this early style. One quartet movement is said to have been inspired by Romeo and Juliet, and the work was started when he was just 27.
