About
Choral Evensong is a service of sung Evening Prayer, taken from the Book of Common Prayer of 1662, held at St Paul's Cathedral. It is led by the Cathedral's own choir, who sing responses, canticles, an anthem and the psalms set for the day, alongside Bible readings and prayers for the Church, the World and ourselves. The meditative and reflective service lasts around 45 minutes and gives space to pause as the day draws to a close. Visitors need not be familiar with the service, as an easy-to-follow order of service can be picked up on entry, and the event is free and unticketed.
