Come and Sing: choral evensong open to all singers.
About
Come and Sing: Choral Evensong for St Cecilia, with Dan Hyde is a choral evensong service at which singers can join in. Daniel Hyde, Director of Music at King's College, Cambridge, conducts the service, in which participants sing Finzi's God is Gone Up in the very service for which it was written in 1954. The rest of the service is sung by The Choir of Holy Sepulchre and includes a new commission, Heavenly Harmony, by composer Joshua Pacey. Singing places are limited to ensure a balance of parts, cost £3 to cover music hire, require a reasonable level of sight reading, and singers arrive at 4.00pm for a 4.15pm rehearsal.
