Copy Your Clothes: pattern-making workshop for beginners.

Copy Your Clothes is a one-day workshop at the Fashion and Textile Museum where participants learn the skills used by couture fashion houses to copy elements of historical garments without pulling them apart. It is led by creative pattern makers and museum tutors Michelle Lewis or Tamara Bradshaw. Students learn to identify garment components, copy basic shapes and details such as pockets, pleats and gathers, draft patterns, and check them for accuracy. Beginners are welcome, though some prior sewing experience is beneficial.
