Croydon Council Emergency Rest Centre exercise

An emergency rest centre exercise for which volunteers are sought to play residents displaced from their homes by a fictional emergency incident. It is run by Croydon Council, whose emergency response teams use it to train Emergency Centre Officers and Managers, test the Council's emergency response arrangements, strengthen partnership working with community organisations and improve services to residents during emergencies. No acting experience is required: volunteers receive a briefing and a simple role to follow. Organisers say it will be an enjoyable and engaging day and a chance to meet others who support Croydon's communities.
